Das Besondere dieses Laphroaig PX Cask Whiskys liegt in seiner Triple Maturation. Zunächst reift der Whisky in Ex-Bourbonfässern aus amerikanischer Eiche und anschließend wird der Whisky in traditionelle Quarter Casks aus Weißeiche umgefüllt durch die eine größere Holzoberfläche und eine intensivere Reifung ermöglicht wird und dem Islay Single Malt eine besonders geschmeidige Textur verleihen. Den finalen Charakter erhält der Whisky durch sein "Finish" in Pedro Ximénez Sherry Butts, wodurch sich zusätzliche Aromen von Trockenfrüchten und eine angenehme Süße präsentieren.
